Do I need to have my website planned out in advance?
It's great if you can but it's certainly not required. You will receive assistance in designing a site from start to finish.
Do I need to supply my own graphics?
You certainly can but it's not required. Horizon Web Design can supply or design most graphics. There might be an additional, modest fee for custom graphics.
Do I need to supply my own photos?
Yes, if you require photographs on your site. The images must be owned by you or permission has been granted for you to use them.
Can I use my own scanned materials?
Absolutely, as long as you own them or have permission to use them. Digital images can be sent via e-mail or CD.
Can I pay by credit card?
Yes. Horizon Web Design accepts American Express, Mastercard, Discover and Visa via Paypal online payment service. Personal checks and money orders are also accepted.
How much of a deposit do you require?
A deposit of 33% of the total project cost is due prior to the start of the project. Another 33% is required after layout design is approved. The remaining balance is due before the site actually goes „live”.
Can you add background music?
This is a frequently asked question. Yes, background music can be added but is strongly discouraged. It adds to the download time of your site and is annoying to many users. In addition, you must have permission to use any music that is copyrighted. This can be expensive.
Do I need to have a web host to begin?
No, I will make recommendations based on your needs, budget, etc.
Do I need to have a domain name to begin?
No, I will take your ideas and help you find the most appropriate domain names available.
Is there a warranty for the finished project?
There is a comprehensive 30 day warranty.
What does the 30 day warranty cover?
The 30 day warranty covers any corrections or modifications to pages or coding that are within the scope of the original project. Major alterations, new pages or additional functions will be billed as new project work.
How much do modifications cost after the 30 day warranty expires?
The costs vary according to the complexity level of the requested changes. Modifications can be billed on an hourly basis or as a set fee depending on the nature of the work. Regularly scheduled maintenance can be performed on a fixed fee basis as well.
Are there any types of websites Horizon Web Design will not do?
I will not design or maintain any site that promotes racism, bigotry, hatred, violence or discrimination; contains adult materials in any way; discriminates against any person or class of persons; victimizes any person or entity by any means of harassment; or violates any federal, state or local laws or promotes the violation of any laws.
